Musings from a curious mid-thirties, aspirational human

How important is your job supposed to be?

When is the right moment to have kids?

Whose opinions should matter to you?

What offenses are worth obsessing over?

How many different ways can you prepare boness, skinless chicken breast?

How many days is too many to wear the same pants in a row if you never see other people?

How many minutes is the ideal window to delay responding to a text?

These are a brief glance into the haunting questions that threaten my sanity each day. And sometimes it feels like there isn’t a safe space in which to share them. If you ask the wrong person the wrong question these days, who knows what can happen to you (tweeted into oblivion, shot with a concealed weapon, or simply ignored for eternity…) so instead of subjecting myself to any of those uncomfortable situations, I thought it might be easier to make myself vulnerable to ALL public opinion by posting my thoughts on the internet! Brilliant!

In all seriousness, I’m not a big fan of social media posting (though I can certainly scroll with the best of em’!) but I DO long for a community in which I can safely ask questions that scare me, and pose thoughts that I have to believe others are also having, but might be afraid to share. And maybe it will make one other person feel less alone in their thoughts and questions. Or maybe it will make one person laugh and feel less afraid of their own thoughts. Or maybe not, and it’ll just allow me to imagine that fantasy...either way it seems good for SOMEone.

Make no mistake, this is not any kind of self-help, advice situation. I have zero answers, only questions and a mildly humorous perspective on things I observe in life--which mostly stems from my often irritable demeanor. I believe in creating spaces when you can’t find the right one to fit you, so that’s what I’ve decided to do here. Create a space. And you’re welcome to join me in that space as I explore the deep, dark, cavernous depths of my mind and, I suppose, the world.

Feel free to drop a comment with any burning questions that stick in your brain and rattle around and around in the background as you move throughout your day! We can explore them together and hopefully laugh along the way!
